Henry has been a Crewcut operator for over a year and a half, mowing lawns on the North Shore from Northcote to Long Bay and everything in between. He doesn’t have any brand preference at the moment, but he has a full arsenal of lawn mowing tools such as his mower, trimmer, and a leaf blower to get his outdoor tasks done impeccably.

Prior to Crewcut, Henry led a busy life as a chef, making Italian food like pizza, pasta, and steak for customers in a Parnell grub hub. He decided to make the switch to lawn and garden care because his previous job demanded too much of his time and energy. He had to work long hours and late nights, always feeling too tired after a day of work.

He bought his franchise from a business owner who decided to sell. Henry recalls talking to Pauli from Head Office thinking that Crewcut was indeed a professional brand that could help him get the success he wants as a small business operator who’s just starting out. He particularly mentions that the way Head Office sent customers his way made things a lot easier for him. “Head Office will send me customers, then my customers will introduce me to more customers,” he says.

At the moment, he works by himself but has made it a goal to grow his customer base even further until he reaches his maximum capacity. His best skill in the business is offering the best service possible for his clients.

He prefers to spend his spare time with family and mentions that he still cooks a lot, particularly in the summer where he is expected to deliver on the barbecue grill.

Henry has had a lot of discoveries after being with the team for a while. “Before Crewcut, I knew nothing about this, so I basically learned everything while on the job,” he says. His advice to newcomers is to realise that it’s a hard and tiring like any other labour-intensive outdoor job, especially during the summer months. He adds, “It’s a hard job. It’s a very tiring job, but I love it and it’s good for my soul. I like having freedom with my time.”
