Clayton has been with Crewcut for a little shy of a year and put in the work to make it a success. With over 100 regular clients, that definitely shows. He aims to grow the business to 125-140 clients by the end of their second season in hopes of supporting himself and his eldest son, who currently helps out two days a week.

Before starting a career in lawn care, Clayton worked as a National Manager for PGG Wrightson for 10 years and did some months as a casual contractor. The advice of a good friend (and fellow Crewcut colleague) eventually pushed him to invest in a lawn care franchise, finding Crewcut to offer the best deal.

Clayton prides himself on his people skills, striving to build a friendly rapport with each customer and treating their property with the highest standard as if it were his own. With a "can do" attitude, he always goes the extra mile.

Reflecting on his own experience, Clayton advises newcomers each customer has different needs, and to deliver the results they want. Don't be afraid to ask industry experts for opinions and advice. Don't try to push your way onto your clients, but be ready to give your unbiased opinion.

When Clayton is not providing high-quality lawn care services, he enjoys the thrill of the hunt and spending time in the outdoors with friends and family.
