Tony is Taupo’s Crewcut Lone Ranger. From Acacia Bay to Wharewaka Point and everything in between, he provides a wide range of services for most backyard projects. When it’s warm he’s mainly lawn mowing but can do just about anything. He also provides dethatching, hedge trimming, tree shaping, garden makeovers, lawn sprays, spraying cobbles. He is stocked up with Husqvarna trimmers and weed eaters and has Honda, Testarosa, and Hustler lawnmowers.

After 25 years in retail management, he went farming for a couple of years. When he came back from that, he really didn’t want to go back inside. So when he found the Crewcut round for sale he took up the opportunity to buy into an established brand. Now he’s been with Crewcut for over 9 years and gets to enjoy the quality of living that comes with owning this business. He always wanted that great lifestyle. His goal is to grow the business to the point where he can get a third Crewcut Taupo van on the road.

His spare time is limited as he has his boys to keep him busy, whether it’s taking them to rugby or spending some quality time together. When he does get the chance he loves to jump in the car and going away. Ideally, he would be jumping on planes and travelling abroad. Now that he has his helper he has the opportunity to do so more often.

Tony has learnt that you can manage businesses as you like, but it’s never the same as actually owning one. Though you can transfer some of those skills across, it was still a challenge when initially starting the business. By starting off small he learnt his capabilities built up to where he is today.
