If you want to deal with a lawn care professional who always puts customers first, then it might be time to get in touch with Jason from Crewcut in Whanganui. Jason proudly serves Whanganui and the surrounding suburbs. However, it’s not only his customers he is serving – but his country before he joined the Crewcut team.

Jason spent 23 years in the Air Force where he reached the rank of Sergeant.  He was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq in 2004 and has assisted in the Christchurch earthquake relief  in 2011 and Fiji Tsunami relief in 2016.  His last role was as a supervisor in the Life Raft Bay which involved servicing the Air Force’s fleet of life rafts. After over two decades, he decided it was time to call it a day and become involved in something else. Working outside, enjoying the weather, and meeting new people sounded like the ideal arrangement.

Jason saw the importance of working with a reputable brand, and Crewcut was a natural choice to make. Now, his business goes from strength to strength, taking care of hedge trimming, gardening, lawn mowing, and more. Jason can help with almost any lawn care related tasks with his Husqvarna equipment such as line and hedge trimmers, push and ride-on mowers, and more.

With new experiences under his belt, Jason has learnt many things along the way. His goal is not only to make his business profitable but to strike a balance between value and quality as well. His number one priority is always customer satisfaction. The traits he has brought from the Air Force such as punctuality, respect, motivation and attention to detail have helped with the  transition into the lawn care business.

He has also learnt about the challenges of such an industry, with the weather being the biggest one. Even the business side of things can take a lot to get your head around, but Jason believes websites such as business.govt.nz and crewcut.co.nz can be beneficial with learning the business ropes, and ensuring you have all the tools you need to be a success.

His new career in lawn care is very much a family business. His wife Emma is a shareholder and helps out where she can with lawn mowing and gardening, while Emmas’ cousin has been enlisted as their accountant. It’s also not all work and no play. When Jason’s not helping his customers or maintaining his equipment, he enjoys cooking, home maintenance, winemaking and military gaming.

Jason loves working in the community in which he lives, and can’t wait to talk to you about your lawn care needs. Get in touch with Jason to find out more about what he can offer.
